An oxidation reaction occurs at the positive electrode, while oxygen in the environment undergoes a reduction reaction at the sensor's negative electrode, forming a closed-loop reaction. The generated current is proportional to the hydrogen sulfide concentration in the environment. By measuring the magnitude of this generated current, the hydrogen sulfide gas content in the environment can be accurately quantified. This sensor is an electrical-free device, requiring no external excitation for the reaction process.
